"Creatures of the Deep" exhibited at HIPA Photo Gallery in Manila

“Creatures of the Deep” by Eric Madeja was selected as one of the finalists in the 2014/15 “Life in Colour” season of
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA). HIPA has extensively grown over the past years and photo submission are likely to surpass 100’000 images in the current season themed “Happiness”, making it one of the largest and most prestigious photography contests in the world.

“Creatures of the Deep” was captured just before sunset in the Alor Archipelago in Indonesia, which is part of the Coral Triangle and shows a beautiful pink jellyfish (Thysanostoma loriferum) in symbiosis with trevally (Carangoides ferdau).

From 28th May - 3rd June HIPA visited Manila to launch their photo gallery at SM Aura Premier Mall. The opening was attended by
Secretary General of HIPA H.E. Ali bin Thalith, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines Moosa Abdulwahid Al Khajah, UN Ambassador of Goodwill for Visual Arts Gion Gounet and SM Prime Holdings Inc. Chairman Henry T. Sy Jr.

Apart from the exhibit, the event offered a number of photography workshops (organised in collaboration with
Digital Photographer Philippines DPP) to the public.
