Pope Francis visiting the Coral Triangle

There has been a refreshing change of wind in the Vatican since Pope Francis has taken over the rudder at the beginning of 2013. He currently prepares for his first visit to the Philippines, the third largest predominately catholic country in the world and one of the six Coral Triangle nations, from 15-19 January 2015.

Debris with an attitude

Here a moment of this year’s photography season that I won’t forget so quick.

rude garbage, pollution, ocean,

Elephant tusks, rhino horn, tiger skins and a Merry Christmas

I usually don’t follow the mostly trivial news about the British Royal Family, but I couldn’t help noticing the gift under the Queen’s Christmas tree.

Obama in support of The Coral Triangle

Earlier this year President Barack Obama vowed to protect Central Pacific waters and just last month he declared his full support to safeguard the Great Barrier Reef for future generations. Now it seems that The Coral Triangle has caught his interest.

4K Underwater Filming Options for professionals and serious amateurs

4K or UHD (Ultra High Definition) has become the standard for higher budget productions. Reason enough for me to do a bit of research on the latest underwater filming options available for professionals and serious amateurs.

The list I put together will give you an overview of what setups are available at this time (November 2015). The list features no technical details, no prices, and is by no means complete, but it might help you with your own Internet research should you be considering to do some serious shopping (after all Christmas season is approaching soon). Please feel free to download and share.

If you have any camera models and housings to add to the list please let me know.

Happy diving and keep on shooting!
